Rev Mr Manly Supt Schools

Dr Sir

We have felt it incumbent upon us to apply to you, for aid or assistance in shuch a manner, as you feel you can give us in establishing our School in Zion Church Corner of Duval Street & St. John witch we have hired for the same, and we intend to continue durring the summer months, and as we were greatly disappointment in finding ourselves cut off from the "Transportation" hoped for, by the Law passed July 16, 1866. So if not contrary to the Rules of your Department I hope its not asking too much to request you to furnish us with Desk, Black Bords &c furniture for said school
