Rev. R.M. Manly,

Dear Sir,

Mr. F.A. Fiske, of Raleigh, Supt. of Edc'n for N.C. says that, with $4000 from our fund he can save about 97 colored schools from expiring, &, by partly paying teachers in this way, give the means of education to 2500 or 3000 children who would otherwise be kept in ignorance. Could you do the same for colored schools in Virginia?

I think we can aid your Normal pupils to the amount of $200.

Truly yours,
B. Sears, Gen. Agent.
