General:
I have the honor to request that acting Assistant Surgeon S. W. Stutsman US.A may be relieved from duty at the Refugee Hospital in this city and that I be authorized to appoint Surgeon E. L. Ford 101st U.S. Colored Infantry to take charge of the Hospital. also that Dr Stutsman may be directed to turn over all property for which he may be responsible, to his successor.
The 101sh U.S.C.I is now reporting to me by order of Maj. Gen. Thomas and Surgeon Ford can be spard for the duty requested and Dr Stutsman being a Contract Surgeon his services can be dispensed with
