Yours of July 1 was received after some delay. I was glad to hear from you, should be glad if some way, could be opened, to get some help for our school house. My school is very large. I have as high as 84 some days all anxious to learn, some that did not know a letter the first of April last can now read quite well in the Bible. I am the only Northern person in this County but do not have any trouble now; the white friends [[strikethrough]]tea[[/strikethrough]] to frighten me away the first month or two, but have given that up now.
