Dear Sir
I tried to see you when in Rd. in June last, but failed on a/c of your absence from town. One of the things I wanted to see you about, was to get you to aid in building a school house in Hanover Co. for the Cold. people in which I am much interested. I have raised at the North $160. and now with a little aid, a good commodious log school house, and chapel can be completed, the only one for the people in this region. Col. Ayer has given the windows, but the work has come to as stop with the walls all up, the rafters prepared, shingles out; and now if they can have plank for roof and gable ends, and floor, in fact something like $50. more they would then be in a
