Dear Sir,

I just drop you a few lines, in haste, with reference to a room and board at your house. Gen'l Brown's family moving from Richmond I am left without that home. Can you let me have a room and board me? I think you will not find me very "diffikilt". I will refer you to the Browns for a "character."
