of the county the coming winter very conveniently. There would be one leading School at the Court-House with two good white teachers who could exercise a kind of supervision over smaller schools in other parts of the county where teachers of less experience and less salary would be employed. Mrs. Austin will be here in a week or two and will aid and bring a good teacher with her if she can have her expenses home. I have written to Mr. R.L. Murry of N.Y. who paid her a small salary year at Wytheville to continue the same aid here. I have also written to the Friends Freedmens [[strikethrough]] aid [[/strikethrough]] Association of Phila. requesting them to aid in providing two more teachers for this County. I respectfully request your approval of these efforts and  aid in securing the teachers. If the aid of these societies cannot be obtained I hope it is within your means to aid in maintaining the two white teachers at this place and one colored teacher at Meherrins Depot at
