In my application for authority to expend $300.00 on the Pochahontas schoolhouse I stated that the city proposed to employ Miss Hill a Northern teacher as Principal of the school  Within a few days Miss Hill has informed me that she has concluded not to place herself in the hands of the School Committee, believing that after the city obtains possession of the building her chance for remaining would be small She therefore proposes to continue the school under the old regime, endeavoring more particularly to fit some of the oldest of her pupils for teachers
