Charlottesville, Sep. 25, 1868,
Mr. R.M. Manly:-
Sup. of Schools of Va.

Sir -

In compliance with your suggestion in a letter to Mrs. Cheney I have come to confer with Major Morse as to what repairs are required on the barracks to render them fit to continue the school in during another year.

As I am here a week in advance on pay, I desire to make the best of my time, and, if possible, to have everything put in readiness for the school to open on the first Monday in October.
