American Freedman's Union Commission No. 30 Vesey Street- [[strikethrough]]P.O. Box 6,733 [[/strikethrough]] LYMAN ABBOTT, Gen. Sec. J.M. McKIM, Cor. Sec. New York, Sept'r 26 1868 R.M. Manly, Esq. Lee of the 21st inst. asks us to provide $25 a month salary for two colored teachers whom he has engaged, and to whom you have undertaken to pay as much more. I believe we can readily do it, but I don't wish to interfere in any of your plans - Shall I say to Col. Lee that he may draw upon us for this amount
