Resply returned to Col. S.P. Lee Sub Asst. Com'r. The written application is not sufficiently explicit. It is important to know, how many pupils Mr. Robey had, how much tuition they pay him, and how much rent he has to pay. If his school is necessary, in addition to the public school, to meet the wants of the place, and if aid is necessary, it will need to be mended in the form of rent, for which application may be made.

Respectfully returned to Bvt Lt. Col S. P. Lee Sub Comr with information that Mr. Ruby has fifteen (15) pupils who promise to pay from 75 cts to $1 per month but he finds it impossible in many cases to get that amount.
As yet he has had to pay no rent. In my opinion his school is quite necessary in Leesberg.
