Copy New England Branch Freedmen's Union Commission. Recently New England Freedmen's Aid Society. No. 8 Studio Building. Boston, Nov. 4, 1868. My dear Mr. Manly, I arrived home safely last evening and have met the Com. for the first time this morning. I have told them all that I learned in regard to the school at Charlottesville We make this proposition - 1st that five gentlemen be appointed Trustees of the Charlottesville High & Normal School. (They can give it any name they please.) We suggest that these be - Prof. Wm. B. Rogers, of Boston Rev. Mr. Abell, of Charlottesville Mr. Gilmore of Charlottesville Mr. Paul Lewis of Charlottesville
