Miss Goodyear is again offering her services gratuitously to the Howland sch. for the coming yr. & is now on the ground & at work. Miss Putnam is doing the same for the one in Lottsburg. Mrs. Foster was sent out by the Freedmen's Aid Soct. of Cincinnati, but has rec'd no salary since May, although she taught regularly until Sept. when she was obliged to partially suspend her labors from the effects of the malaria of the Country wh. for a time so prostrated her, that we greatly feared the result. She is so much better now that she intends to resume her duties in a week or so.
