Charlotte Court House, Va. Nov. 18th 1868 Rev. R.M. Manly, Richmond, Va. Dear Sir, I addressed a note to Dr. Sears to inquire if anything could be obtained from the Peabody fund towards erecting school houses in connection with church buildings for the Freedmen. I am about to undertake the building of two meeting houses, each to have connected with it a school house. One at Keysville, and the other at Charlotte Court House, and asked Dr. Sears if $250 for each of these points could be obtained. I enclose you his reply. Please inform me on the subject. Yours Respectfully Joseph Walker
