Least I have the honor to request that the statement made by Miss E. James is true, I know the school house is unfurnished and the amount she asks $50 would complete the house. A school could be kept up at that place which in a short time would furnish teachers for the other schools in the District, the contributions made for that place has exceeded any other place in either of those two counties yet I think it could be good policy to complete the School house by furnishing the amt required, The Freedman have done well in Harrisonburg, have built a comfortable house for worship and have their school house nearly completed, I advised Miss James to board at some place where the price of board would be less, she has purchased a small house and lot and can for the future avoid paying such a high price for board, if her present board file was squared up I think the Freedman ought to support the Teacher in that Town

very Respectfully
