Major
I have the honor to Enclose herewith Certificate from citizens of Cloverdale Botetourt Co Va. certifying that if an appropriation of money be allowed by the Bureau of R.F. and A.L. to assist them in purchasing a school house that they will become responsible for the maintenance of a school in said house for two (2) years
Therefore on behalf of these and other colored citizens I would respectfully request that an appropriation of two hundred (200) dollars be allowed for the purchase of a building now owned by Mr K Nininger. He will sell the building which is 24 x 28. and weather boarded and two acres of ground for two hundred and fifty (250.00) dollars which in my opinion is much less than that amount of ground could be purchased for, for School purposes and a building of that size erected.
