Cloverdale is situated five 5 miles from Bonsacks on the Va and Ten R.R. and the nearest Freedmens School is at Fincastle ten miles from there. These would be upwards of fifty scholars attend this school and great interest would be taken in it as the persons signing the enclosed certificate are men of character and anxious for the education of their children. 
The citizens will purchase the two acres of land and have it deeded to three persons chosen as school Trustees for school purposes. 
Hoping the request may meet with the approval of the Asst Comr.
