Maj Wm R. Morse
Dear Sir
below please find my estimate for the school House according to plan & specifications which you left with me & which are hereby enclosed also as you requested. I find on examining the plan & old building that more of the joint will be long enough as they are only about 22 ft-long whilst the new building will require them 24ft.
There will have to be new port as the heights of the old building is not equal to new [[?]], about 2ft. I have estimated for a brick foundation wall 1½ bricks thick & to coverage 3½ ft high which will take about 18000 bricks including the chimneys. The whole cost in money besides the value of the old Building is as follows
Carpenters work including new heart pine or chestnut shingles $1100,00
If the best of old shingles ar used & I am satisfied that I can make a good roof that will last 12 or 15 years, will fifty dollars left
                 Brick Work.
18000 bricks at $14 per thousand 252,00
800 yards plastering at 45 cts 360,00
If built on new site it will cost 28,00
Whole cost Seventeen hundred & forty dollars 1740,00

Please let me hear from you as early as convenient
Yours &c

Transcription Notes:
It appears that a word was crossed out. There is also a word that reads as "cho" but could be "or", neither of which makes much sense in the context.
