I respectfully recommend the colored school at Columbia, taught by Mr. & Mrs. S. D. Anderson, to your favorable consideration in connection with the fund placed at your disposal for the encouragement of colored schools in Virginia. The school now numbers about fifty pupils. According to Mr. Anderson's Report for November he has a large number of orphan children now in his school whose friends are not able to pay for tuition.
Can you aid the school to the extent say of ten dollars per month. Mr. Anderson and his wife are both employed as teachers and seem anxious to do all in their power, and are qualified, I think, to teach such a school successfully.
Please advise me by letter whether you can
