Dear Sir
I take the liberty of sending you one of my Circulars about the church I want to build here. It is the same Church I wrote you about, begging for. I am sending a copy of this direct to every Church in Portland irrespective of Sect. I have some twenty Class mates Clergymen & one will go to each of them.
The negroes have a few dollars left [[strikethrough]] after [[/strikethrough]] in their Treasury. The builders will undertake a church 30 X 55 feet- 15 feet- high in the clear everything in good shape. without paint pews or pulpit for $1375. Building is a trade in which I have experience & understand. They the builders are willing to commence as soon as I have $500. on hand If I can get $300 from the Bureau my Fallen will give $100. & the negroes & I will raise the other $100 Christmas week & we will start. If the Bureau will give me the $300. I'll pledge myself
