Dear Sir.
I have not received a bill of lading of another set of books sent me by AS Barnes & Co of New York for my work here. I have not heard a word from you since the 10th of last month and I am very anxious to hear. I hope the mail is not delayed. I consider it of the utmost importance that the school house at King Wm Court House be started between now & Christmas if the freedmen are to aid the work. I believe a school there would reach 150 scholars at least probably 200. It is the most central point with perhaps the exception of Cat Tail Church in the county. The freedmen have promised $200 in corns money I propose to collect this immediately while they have it & wish the Bureau would
