Rev. R. M. Manly
Dear Bro,

Your note informing me of Miss Nettleton's arrival and success came duly to hand. I forwarded her a draft a few days since for Fifty Dollars. I will not allow the expense of 18, for a substitute before her arrival, to be paid by you, out of your personal funds, but if you can secure it from the Bureau, which I presume you can, please to do so, as I am pressed for funds to sustain our work- and it ought to be increased a thousand fold- I must start the ball to secure her transportation which strangely miscarried- Always happy to hear from you.
Respectfully Yours,
R.S. Rust.
