I have known him many time sot go at midnight to see some one who was sick or in distress taking with him some simple remedy which I am happy to say in many instances has been blessed to the recovery of such as in their poverty would have died before a physician could attend them.
But when death refused to relinquish his hold on his victim he has softened their way to the grave by his cheering presence, undimmed trust in God and firm faith besides furnishing them with many luxuries which only a generous heart would think of. I cannot tell you how earnestly I desire to have him retained here his whole soul is given up to the work. Will you not use your influence to retain so good and useful a man?
