Mr Manley;
Dear Sir,
Your very kind letter with the blanks came safely to hand. You did say whether I must fill out the blanks but I thought you wished it done.
Mr Goodyear was up to see the school on Friday of last week; and seemed much pleased with it. He says, if we do well, he wishes to give us the most honored name of, "The Howard School." I found 148 books here, and he will be up again in a few days, with more. I must not say too much of my school, but am happy to inform you, we are getting on wonderfully well, for the length of time we have been here 1 class in Davies' Intellectual Arith, 1 in Davies' Primary, 1 in Monteith's 2nd, and few in Alph. Commenced Nov 23rd and they wish to have recess

*Davies' Intellectual Arithmetic, and Monteith's 2nd (geography): quick google search says these are text books of the time
