I heard from you through my Brother William Turpin and in the meantime I will say that I have not confirm the bargain with Miss Harper from her again soon as I confirm the bargain. I would like to get a transportation for her to fit up the school room there would be one partition and door to put up partition 9x10 feet and benches for the room I expect it could be done for $25 we have a carpenter here who could do the work if he knew what would suit the teacher we doubt know what rent we will have to pay for the rooms yet I am certain we can get them on reasonable terms if you could spare the time we would like for you to come up and see how we are situated and tell us what is best for us to do if you can come write me a few lines to Pemberton Goochland County Va.  Our landing is on the James River and Kanawha Canal 49 1/2 miles from Richmond you would get off the boat just above Lock No 13 at Turpins landing you would get off the boat in the morning stay all day and return in the evening.
