NEW YORK BRANCH
FREEDMANS UNION COMMISSION,
No. 76 John Street.
New York, 15 March 1869

Dear Mr Manly
Your letter of the 10th Inst came duly to hand. We have consulted together respecting your proposition & agree that we should prefer to sell our Buildings to the "Richmond Educational Association" rather than to any other.

In order to provide for all our liabilities, we ought to get 2000 Ds for the property — which, as you know, is very low — but to the Association we would make such deduction as, under the circumstances, should be considered reasonable.

Yours Truly
Fran's. Geo. Shaw
