Mr. R. Manley:
I called at your office on the eighth of this month, have been sent by Mr. Goodyear. Finding that you were in Alexandria, I came to Mr. Goodyear, whom I found at this place, after I had walked ten miles from West Point Church in order to see him.
He told me, that I might remain here, as he would have the school-house ready in a few days. The school house is finished, and I opened with forty-six scholars, to-day. I expect to have quite an addition in a few days.
