in paying for our School House & lot- & myself & Isard Craig stand responsable [[responsible]] for the amt due yet on our school house & Lot- & unless I can get Aid from the School Board we will have to forsake of some of our property to meet the demand of our creditor of whom we purchased Sd Lot - the money that I am expecting thorough your hands for teaching  Dear Sir I propose on placing a apart to the payment of our school house & lot amt sufficient to pay off the demand & may it pleas [[please]] your kind honor Dear Sir to forward me the money as soon as you conveniently can as the amt for Sd house & lot is due & oblige your sincere friend I also inform you that as respects books for Sabbath Schools I should be very much gratified  in mind to get a sufficient quantity of books to carry on my sabbath school I can also inform you that Read Fountain & Richardson Government Agt of County Directed me to report to him & he reported through McDougle but since I have read your Letter & school monthly reports I have reported to you promptly.

Mr. Rolent R. Leo a redular school teacher visited my school the last day & examined my school for me several of my employees were there & Mr. Leo delivered us a school address which was very gratifying to all the school & also to the whole congregation I have known Mr. Leo from our boyhood & he has always been a man of true principles a great advocate for the Union & also for[[strike-through]]  Sabbath[[/strike-through]]colored schools he kept himself out of rebellion by teaching during the war for which since knowing his principles he stands as one of two firmest - friends in this country & will give aid comfort or advice to our Cause for this reason I drop you a few lines concerning him is our friend yours etc. Wm F Gardner
