We the colored peple of Bristol write you this letter for information in regard to the school which have bin in progress since December the 4th. The teacher Sarah Bowen of wythville, va was sent here by a Bureau Agent Cap McDugal with the premes that we was to Board her and the Goverment would pay her for Servic the sum of $15 a month. the teacher have not Receased a cent. Just before the School began we had to pay so much to comply our School House and we all are poor and having had but very little done for us we are unable to pay the teacher Consequently the school must stop without immediate assistance from the Goverment we have a splendid teacher and she is doing greate good so we beg you to be pleased to help us that our school may continue
