[[strikethrough]] Bureau of Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
Head Quarters 11th Sub-District of Virginia. [[/strikethrough]]

Farmville, Va., April 27 1869.

Chaplain R.M. Manly
Richmond

Sir:
Miss Deane principal of Freedmen's school here has a stubborn tenant, occupying a part of school building, who is a nuisance but who will not vacate the premises either for threats or entreaties. Having no authority myself, I decline to do more than fulfil my promise to her that I would write to Hd Qrs. and state the facts.

As the question of the building standing at all is not yet settled, it would be useless to go into ejectment before the return of papers in reference to the building — which I forwarded last week. If the building is retained I would then request Blue's removal as desired by Miss Dean
