I received a line from you staiting that I took full pay for a months board from Miss Prestton when she was owing us, but a half month the ten dollers she claims I took for nothing I think a small compensation for furnishing her with light & fuel for the time she was hear also she left without paying for her washing for four and a half month she sed when we commenced washing for her she would pay and all I want is what belongs to us I do not want to take from Miss Preston nor the US Government all I want is my just due when Miss Preston came to our hous last October we did not feel willing to board her after being urged some time and teling how well they would reward us we concluded to let her stay this insulting lettor that you sent us is this the reward. we were quite comforttable situated at the time Miss Preston came to our hous and the People very friendly to us and would have been now if we had not taken her in to our house and now she
