I wrote to thee on the 14th. asking that a young colored man, the first Normal scholar in the school at Richmond shd be appointed as teacher for the Clarksville School. A letter from thee of the same date to J. J. Carter of Lincoln University advises him to apply here for that appt. - Is he the "Normal Scholar" alluded to above? If not, please give the appt. to the Normal scholar in preference because the extra expense involved in transferring Carter from Oxford, Pa. to Clarksville is to be considered. By informing soon how the matter stands thou will oblige the Com.
- Respectfully, M. E. Shearman Act.
