Dear Sir permit me very respectfully to say to you that we wishes to have a School in our neighbourhood which is the lower part of the 5th district we have no Schools nearer than 10 miles from the place we have chosen for our School house to be located seems to be Satisfactory to the people in the neighbourhood I have goten a portion of the lumber for the house but but we wish to here from you before we proseed farther we can get from thirty to forty Scholars and we wish to know if you can send us a teacher and upon what terms there is a Lady teaching in the county of New Kent and hir term is near up thare and she wishes to teach for us in Caroline if agreable to you and we also wish to have hir thare please anser this as soon as possible and direct your letter to Wm J Courtney Hanover C House PO I will now close by remaining your true friend
