colored man from Barbadoes, of the advantage of a collegiate education and of that social culture & refinement which in that country can be gained by the black as well as the white. I trust he will prove a valuable acquisition to the cause of the education of his unfortunate race in Virginia and the South. He is to remain here for the summer only. I hope a larger field will then be opened to him.
 
I expect to visit Clover Depot in a few days with a view to the establishment of a school at that place- also Clarksville to see how the school is progressing.
