Mr Manley:
We the undersigned persons who have children in the colored school at this place respectfully ask you to continue the school in session through the summer vacations as it has not been two months since our teacher (AW Childs) arrived, and the school is just getting a good start.
We would also ask that you continue to pay the agreed salary during that time, as we are poor and have large families to support and cannot afford to pay it all ourselves.
