Madison C.H. Va June 22nd 1868
Mr. Manly:
Please find enclosed my report for June, you will see that the School is very poor. I am told that the people generally are busy harvesting and are obliged to keep their children in the fields for at least two weeks longer. I supposed this is why the School is so badly attended. I had Sunday School on Sunday. About forty children were present. I do not like the place at all, but am willing to stay long enough to get the School family started, so some other teacher may take it. The Scholars entered so badly during the month that I have collected only two Dollars from them
Very respectfully
Roberta D. Scott
