Rev. R. M. Manly
Richmond, Va.

Dr sir
I received yours of July 21st Saturday I thank you for it and in a special measure for your good will and efforts in my behalf. I hope to obtain the school at Fredericksburg. I am not certain however but that the same teachers will remain as taught last year. I have written to Mr. Waring to have the particulars. Mr. Hatfield said there were other openings for instance in South Carolina and north Do. where the association contemplated establishing a school or schools. I should prefer Virginia but of course would not object to being sent farther South. I will write you upon hearing from Mr. Waring. My sister wishes me to ask you if any definite arrangements have been perfected relative to her teaching. if any Society
