Chaplain Manly,

A friend from Windham, Conn. wishes me to ascertain whether she could obtain a situation as teacher either to the "Freedmen," or "Poor Whites"?
She has had experience in teaching, is a lady of culture and would be a desirable teacher for the South. Do you know of vacancies in either field? Will you please inquire of Mr. Washburn whether he needs a teacher for the Poor Whites? The lady in question is Miss Alice Robbins, 30 yrs. of age. Should you have any thing favorable to communicate
