that we can pay the salaries (about $15 or $20 a mo.]) of probably twenty or thirty country teachers next year;  if the Bureau still continues to pay rents, of course we can do much more (& very likely even if it does not), but we do not want to promise more than we can perform.  I personally do not want to take the Richmond Schools again, but might we not have some of the Country Schools instead & so free funds for them?  

We shall have no meeting before Sept. 20th - will that be time and decide the question?  If so, please write fully about it, that I may have something to say before the Com'ee.  I should of course like to know how many teachers you want in the country, & at what salaries, as soon as may be, but are especially anxious about that possible Normal School.
