Lunenburg Co. Va August 19th, 1869.

Dear Sir
The house which I have to teach in belongs to Mr John Thompson. He desire that the rent for June and the Mo of July to be paid. So that I apply to you to let me know how I can get the rent for him. It is a very Comfortable Building with 3 rooms. He charges $5.00 a Month. I have taught in this Building two Months, and is teaching in it at present. Please to send the pay to me Keysville Virginia. I also have a large School of children numbering 42. 
I have nothing more to write at this time. Please as soon you get this letter, will you write and inform me of this matter of rent.
