are desirous that I shall take a white school. I would not be understood as having any spiteful disposition in the matter toward my neighbors, but my col'd friends have behaved themselves so well & seems so anscious that I shall continue with them that I do not feel like giving them up yet particularly as I was a good deal blamed by some of my white friends for doing what I regarded a Christian duty in aiming to ameliorate their mental condition & elevating them in the scale of humanity. I have labored with them earnestly & I think successfully & thinks it very important that this school should be continued, if possible. But as it is important to me. I should be glad to hear from you definitely as to the continuation of the school at your very earliest convenience. If the prospect is at all favorable, I will not undertake any other school hurriedly. Please let me hear from you promptly & again, in view of all that has been done and of the great difficulty of establishing a school of this kind, urge you to do all that in you lies to have this school kept up.

Very Respectfully
J. E. Lazenby
