Dear Sir:
I am in doubt as to the relation which the Freedmen's Bureau sustains [[underline]]to schools[[/underline]], for the present year. I do not know that [[underline]]changes[[/underline]] have not been made.  Any information upon the subject will be thankfully received.

We (the Pres. Com. of St. Missions) are in the field again, this Fall, and are anxious to make the most of our means and opportunities. Four of our schools (at Winchester, Harrisonburg, Leesburg, and Fredericksburg) have already commenced, and a number more will commence very soon.

Do you know anything of Ayletts King William Co? We have been urged to send a teacher there.

Are there still sub-Superintendents at dif-
