Respected Sir
I write to let you no about school matters here on the advise of Mr Lather Lee who lives in this immediate locality. I have some 65 scholars [[strikethrough]] with [[/strikethrough]] with an average attendance of about 38. We have never received any assistance from the Bureau or from any Society. My present terms commenced on the 10th day of July and will continue through the winter. All the people can do towards the suport of the School is to pay my board. Now I ask you for assistance and trust you will not let our school go down for the want of it. I wish to get $8.00 dollars per month allowed for the rent of the school house and eight dollars from the Bureau fund to be allowed for me as a salary. I refer you to Mr Lather Lee who is now in Richmond.
Very Respectfully yours,
Saml Laffmon
