At the request of the colored people of Snickersville, Loudon Co, Va I write to ascertain whether you will appropriate two hundred fifty dollars to assist in building a school house for them at that place.
Alfred Fox, colored, first agreed to give land, but some of the unterrified in that locality threatened violence to the building and persecution to the donor thus frightened him.
Another colored man by the name of Louny has agreed to give the land for education & religious purposes.
They are able to put up the building with the assistance asked for of the Bureau.
