Dear Sir,

I learn from Rev. Fr. Sears Gen's Agent Peabody Fund that you have charge of the application of such position of the fund as are given for the support of colored schools in Virginia. There is a school at Gelty Station near this city which is barely supported by the colored people and cannot hold out much longer unless it receives outside aid of some kind. It is kept by a colored teacher and is well attended, but the people there are very poor. Please let me know if you can aid this school and if so to what extent and how the aid is to be obtained.

Yours Very Truly
