Sir:
Your of the 1st inst. is just at hand and in reply. I will say - the land on which the school house refered to, stands, is wholly owned by the Freedmen of this place, also the building itself.

Should the building receive necessary repairs, I have no doubt, that one hundred pupils at least, would attend this winter and next spring - and perhaps it would be well that an assistant should be retained.

As to myself, I will state that it has been, and still is,
