Lynchburg, Va.
Oct. 5. 1869.

Rev. R.M. Manly
Supt. of Education,
Richmond, Va

Dear Sir,
The board of trustees are now taking active steps twoward building the new school house. They have practically secured the lot. The writings are not yet drawn up. That would be done today or tomorrow if not two of the leading men (Messrs. Morgan and Perkins) of the board were called away form home for several days.

I think they can build the house in six or eight weeks.

While passing through Richmond Messrs. Morgan and Perkins will call on you for some points of information.

Some schools have reopened this week in this section. Schools of Lynchburg it is expected will open next. I expect to open a number of new school in the course of a month. /!
