Sir:- We have in Manassas a Colored School House and have made arrangements for a School to commence soon. The colored people here have subscribed liberally, but need some help either to support the school or to fix up the school-house for winter. The County Court in it's last term appointed me School Commissioner at this point. Could I not get an appropriation of $100. or even $50. which would put the school house with good conclusion. If that much is done, we will see that the teacher is paid. Or if you would prefer to appropriate toward the teacher, we can fix up the house.
