Sir:- I have the honor to request your attention to the following statement.

We have at Manassas a good colored school-house and by liberality of some of our friend here we shall have a school opened here shortly. But we need a little help to enable us to finish off the school house in modern style. Could we not get an appropriation of $100. or even $50. to enable us to complete our building? Or if you would prefer assisting the teacher, we can finish the house.
