Fredericksburg Va
Nov, 1st 1869,
Mr Manly,
It has been? "quiet" on the Rappahannock since you were here. They were anxious to know what Mr. Manly said but I have them no satisfaction only, that perhaps an order from Gen. Canby would give them the information,
Maybe it is wrong to permit them to be deceived, but I am sure, I could not have the house, were it otherwise, The grammars are received, for which we are very grateful,
Respectfully
S. A. Hatch
